The committee had their first meeting yesterday in Derry and this is what they have agreed.
1. The new officers until the first AGM of Deaf Women North West is as follows:
- Chair - Michaela McFadden
- Secretary - Avril Scott
- Treasurer - Kathleen Holmes
- Committee - Marie Gallen
- Committee - Pauline Doherty
- Committee - Dawn Marshall
2. A new Constitution has been agreed and signed by the Committee. This enables the committee to apply for funding. Each member of DWNE will have a copy of the constitution when they become members.
3. An application form has been filled in to apply for a £1,000 grant from Derry City Council. The deadline is 24th May 2008 so keep your fingers crossed that this will be successful! We will keep you informed of the outcome.
4. The committee is still working on the details of the launch on 6th June 2008. But some exciting news ... the Chair of the IDWG - Dee Byrne Dunne will be coming to the launch!

I’ve recently visited your blog and may say that it is both delightful and admirable, no one could have done a better job! The pictures are indeed adorable and the content is extremely interesting. This is the case when I have a chance to call your blog charming and captivating at one time! Congratulations for setting up a group for Deaf women - it is very important to share women's issues, concerns and comments. Someday I will visit Derry - I am delighted to see Avril and Lucy on the photos.. Well done Micheala and the committees.
